In addition to standard research methods and approaches, our research incorporates comparative effectiveness research (CER) methodologies. CER is systematic research that compares different interventions and strategies to prevent, diagnose, treat and monitor health conditions. It provides an important perspective, enabling clinicians and patients to understand the facts about various treatments.
After a thorough review of current healthcare research to identify gaps between existing research and the needs of clinical practice, we conduct clinical studies designed to assess a comprehensive array of health-related treatments and outcomes for diverse patient populations. Using this approach, we are able to inform clinicians and decision-makers, as well as patients, about which treatments are most effective for which patients under specific circumstances. Ultimately, our studies are meant to assist clinicians in deciding the best possible treatment for their patients.
